Me and My Daddy Sessions 2017

Just like the name of this blog says, this session is for kids of all ages and their DADS!

 

Thats true Dad’s! This session is all about you!

(Note* Photos come in colour too. I was trying to be dramatic ;P)

 

 

My goal this year is to really reach out to you MEN. All of you who have children. Men who still have their dads around!

 

 

Every year we get dozens of woman booking Mommy and Me sessions. Single moms, married mom. Moms who bring out their sisters and daughters and mothers. Ive had 4 generations of woman and kids at these sessions.

 

But the dads are in no way taking this as seriously! I know that your busy.

I know you hate getting your photo taken without a beer or fish in your hand.

 

I know that you probably feel like you take enough photos right? Selfies? etc.. You are in a few photos with your kids right??

 

No, no, no. This will not DO!

As a Daddies girl myself…. I can tell you hands down, that my photos with my dad are SO important to me.

Like YOU are so important to your kids. Its time to start making these moments a priority.

 

There is 5 important kinds of dynamics in a family. There is the entire family together. There is the kids alone. The parents alone, and then Mom n’ kids and Dad n’ kids…

Each dynamic when broken down is SO unique. Moms, you need to hook the men up in your life and get them in. Grab grandpa and uncles too. This is an amazing opportunity (excuse) to grab some memories that not many get to.

To all you single dads out there….. (GUESS WHAT???  This is allowed!)

You dont need a woman to hook you up! You are allowed to book a photographer and get some professional photos done with your kids too! Of course you can!

Families change. Yes thats true.

But that does not make them any less important.

No matter what your situation is.

There are MANY incredible dads who support, care for, and share the responsibility in raising their kids, even single dads who do it all on their own for many different reasons. Dads who are busting their…. buns ;) being mom and dad. There is amazing step dads, and uncles helping to raise nieces and nephews. Grandpas who are still chasing 2 year olds and being amazing roll models.

 

Yet for some reasons in all my 6 years being a family photographer,

I have never once had a single dad ever call and book a family session for himself and his kids. Not one time.

Moms do! Married Moms will book their husbands and boyfriends in for Daddy and Me sessions without them even knowing, and send the Dads on their way to me…because they KNOW how special you are to your kids. This is a wake up call guys!

The woman book you in becasue they know how much everyone in your family will cherish those images forever…

I’ve even had girlfriends book sessions for their boyfriends and his kids… (#truestory)

But NOT ONE Dad has ever arranged a session for him and his kids on his own. WHY??

THIS STOPS NOW.

I am officially challenging all you single DADS.

Pull up those big boy pants and lets DO THIS!!! I promise you, its not as scary as it seems! You won’t be alone! This is where you get to show up and I do the work!

As I did with the Single Moms, I am offering all Single Dads a 10% off discount. So take advantage of this, and grab those kiddies and let me show you, we got this!

I have spread the sessions over two weekends as I did with the Mommy and Me sessions as I know that alternating weekends happen, so hopefully this works! If you can’t make these dates work, please ask Jennifer at bookings@lisamariephotography.ca about booking a a ‘la cart Daddy ‘n Me for the month of June on a time that works for you. It will cost a little more, but it will be worth it!

When: June 10th & 11th, 17th and Fathers Day the 18th. I have opened up Fathers Day for a few hours in hopes some of you will get your families together and come see me! 

Place to be: We are heading to the Crescent Beach Area. Exact Location will be sent with directions a week prior to your session :)

South Surrey, British Columbia, Canada

Arrival Time: Please arrive only 5-10 mins prior to your shoot time given booking. Late arrivals will cut into your session time. Please note if you do arrive early to be respectful of the clients in session. Kids can be distracted quite easily by on lookers and other children. So a mindful distance is appreciated :)

And if you send us their information we can send them a lovely gift card with a message from you explaining that you have gifted them this session and we can take care of booking them in!

This is on an honour system. No one will have to prove income or single hood. So I ask that when you are booking two sessions for you and your solo daddio, please consider that sessions are limited, and this is not Buy 1, get 1 1/2 off. This is you and I giving a gift. Being a single parent myself, I also have kids who need shoes too, and each session that I gift with you is one session less then I can take on.

Sessions Include: A full viewing gallery of the best photos and your choice of 7 edited images (more images available for purchase when viewing gallery is sent) delivered High Res, via downloadable gallery to your email address, all images are focusing on Dads/Grandfather/children-immediate families only please. Groups of up to 5 members per session. If you are planning to get uncles and cousins involved please inquire as to how you may book back to back sessions. *note, these are NOT Family sessions…. Dad’s only please :)*

 

WAIT, there is MORE??? Heck yeah there is!! I think we can all agree that.. 

BUT some DADS HAVE CAPES!!!

(Well OUR Dads will have capes)

Thats right!! NEW THIS YEAR: Sewful Designs Is making us matching Dad and Kid Super Hero Capes!

 

Attire: Recommended attire for kids Dad’s is casual yet not TOO casual. NO sweat pants and old tennis shoes… leave your lulu’s at home!

Think, cute, trendy, and comfortable YES you can go a little matchy match, its totally allowed!

DADS ‘n KIDS!! Dads, you will have the option to wear a RED Cape/mask, or BLUE Cape/mask. The red capes are intended to be worn with Dads and Boys, and the Blue Capes are intended to be worn with your little girls!

We suggest that you bring plain matching T-Shirts to wear with the kids.

If you have BOYS, bring either ALL BLUE T-shirts (with Red capes) or ALL YELLOW T-shirts (with Red Capes)

If you have GIRLS, We suggest that you all wear WHITE T-shirts, OR the girls wear BLUE and YOU wear PINK :)

If you have BOYS and GIRLS… This will be YOUR call. The kids have the choice of Red OR Pink Capes.

Disclaimer- Mini sessions are in no way guaranteed. You are given 15 mins with Lisa only. Lisa makes every effort to work with your family and kids,but she can not be responsible for members who are not cooperating/smiling for photos, this includes fussy babies, toddlers who will not pose, teens who are stinky and miserable husbands (bring treats and bribes, the husbands love fruit snacks too!) PLEASE DO NOT give your kids “treats and bribes” prior to the session, these are magic weapons and to be used when necessary! Please just keep this in mind when you are booking mini sessions. All finished photos will receive editing, but not retouching or extreme measures such as “swapping heads” ;), please make sure your kids are TATTOO free (big pet peeve lol) Please also note anyone saying, “oh but you can just photoshop that right?” will get a pinch :D ALSO mini session can run a little behind at times, if you are waiting for your session to start please be patient and do not interrupt the current session, we are all moms and dads and know sometimes other little ones need a little extra few mins at times and no one wants any kids to be left out. Allot an extra 15 mins after before you need to be anywhere else! Thank-you for your understanding.
